
Genus Byssomerulius
[band-aid crust and relatives]
This genus has about eleven species. We have one or two species known in the Chicago Region, depending on which ones you include in this genus.
- Byssomerulius corium is whitish and can be confused with Irpex.
- Byssomerulius incarnatus [Phlebia incarnata] has a beautiful pink cap.

- Taxonomy
- Byssomerulius was considered a synonym of Meruliopsis by Ginns (1998) but the type species of that genus, Meruliopsis taxicola, was moved to Gloeoporus by Gilbertson and Ryvarden in 1985.
